At the very last minute....

( 01-23-2010 )
saenger theatre- mobile, al
.....If I do say so myself, it was magical. Captured my shoes and took them off my feet for a few beats.

David and I took off in the Mobile direction to a Gov't Mule concert. Very wise decision that was. Would you like to see a small portion of why I think it was such a great idea that we followed through with this last minute trip.....

set one: bad little doggie, steppin lightly> any open window, rocking horse, dont step on the grass sam, trane> eternity's breath>st. stephen (jam), frozen fear, the letter, soulshine.

set two: brighter days> like flies, fixin' to die, spoonful> duan to matt handoff>drums>drums and key jam> broke down on the brazos, mule>i've been workin'>mule, E: Almost cut my hair, Pearly Queen

Annnnnd this was with Col. Bruce Hampton, Ret. & Duane Trucks, and Alvin Youngblood Hart.

Meet the concert crazies after the spectacular show....

And..."dont step on the grass sam" was one of the times where my boots refused to stay on my feet....

When we returned back to reality we had a day full of laziness at it's best!

yo!

Wah-BAM.... I just had the PERFECT lunch. My Memo snuck over to Troy this weekend while I was away in south Florida and cooked me up some of her homemade potato soup. Ahhhh, the yummy in my tummy it causes! In fact, I might have another bowl for supper. Who knows?!

Ummm, can I get an awful groan sound from someone for this weather here today. The sun is shining, nice. But reminder I was just totally teased with West Palm Beach weather for a good few short days. We be-bopped over to Boca, Florida yesterday before heading back to Bammy (yes, I realize I put an extra couple hours on our trip) to have an afternoon adult beverage at Crabby Jack's ... me that is, not my cutie driver.... with an old roomie of mine from Colorado. It was tempting to forget about the "responsibilities" we are facing today and just scoot on over a tee bit more to Miami. I'd make a sister mad if I entered Dash before she had the chance. The bowl game played yesterday in Miami (and traffic that comes along with that) kept us from falling into that temptation. David and I have great success with road trips so far. Trina (that would be the black hoe David rides) added a good 1600 miles, give or take, to her life and in my opinion handled it nicely. I got nominated as the best co-pilot in the world. So, next is deciding what to wear to that award ceremony.

I'd like to fill out my opinion survey on the weekend, please....

1) If you could change one thing about your recent stay what would it be?
Extend it a few more days! If you are willing to work with me and allow me a couple weeks there that is perfectly fine, too.
2) How was the weather?
If I said the first thing that came to my mind it might be rated "r".... So, let's just say the weather was there wish you were beautiful.
3) What is one thing you would like to tell the locals?
Tough life guys... wearing summer-ish dresses (or for the dude's shorts and flops) at the end of January.... tough stuff. Pah-leez!!!!
4) Did you turn into a nija turtle at any point in the trip?
Indeed. The purple one!! How did you know??!!

Got to run... a zillion things to be accomplished in the next hour! But get ready to be spoiled with several more blogs and lots of shameless pictures of a beautiful mess lifestyle.

Happy Hump Day!

Last night- I slept sweetly.

Outside- It's gorgeous.

Today- I'm feeling MUCH better.

Pleased to say- As of lunchtime today, Ziggy only brought 2 things (both belonged to her) in the front yard for the entire neighborhood to see.

Tomorrow- I leave for West Palm.

Fancy- Pretending that I can play the guitar better than the big timers.

Monday- I have a seminar at school.

My throat- is no longer hurting but wants me to treat it to a sonic slush.

Song of the Day- Vacation

Love- the excitement my child (Ziggy) gets when she sees me for the first time all day.

Anticipation- The Weekend!

What's up? My name is Jacob. In order to keep the little ladies coming my way I need a haircut. Just a trim though, please maam. I've got dates scheduled (in fact I'm booked way past Valentine's Day) so I need to be squeezed... Squeezed in your apt. book that is. ;) So Mal, if you can help me out I'll even consider taking you out on a nice little date.
YOU GOT IT, STUD! =)

No fun....

I'm sicky-poo and so over it. If I had it my way I'd be full force and back in the ballgame. Until then, I will enjoy being pampered ( I have a great doctor ) and hope that things will be a speedy recovery. Bye Bye blues hello new shoes.... that's what I'm awaiting.. =-/

Mullet Madness

Atmore sent me home with a $117 and a picture with this sweetie. Her words to me were "Make sure you get my good side and don't sell my picture on Ebay. My husband would be upset. We were married 22 years, divorced 9 and just got remarried!"

This fine gentleman was spotted outside Soul Kitchen. He was more on the camera shy side unlike my Atmore pal!

www.mullettrophyroom.blogspot.com is the place to go if you want to share mullet pics or enjoy the ones others shared! Check this silly-ness out.

My windows will be rolled down all day!

The weather is unbelievable today. It makes my craving for summer expand to one I often get for sushi. (That's huge if you didn't know) In case you were wondering what jams I will be blaring... I'm going to say it's WSP day for my music choice. And lucky for me, I just got the New Years show from this year and it's ready to be inserted into Reba's cd player!

Last night I talked to an oldie, but goodie, friend that I met in Breckenridge when I lived out there. AND GUESS WHAT.... He lives in Boca, Florida now and this lucky girl ( me me me me ) will be thirty minutes away from there next weekend. That makes my excitement about the little road trip even more intense.

Insert this image in your head - Miss Mallory jumping up and down, bouncing around, huge smile that looks similar a 10 year old, barefoot, and when she chills out with the insane jumping she sits down to have a bongo beat mix prepared just for you.

I hope you have a very fab Friday! I'm sure glad the weekend is here! =)

hi, friend.

It is always a splendid feeling having someone who understands the things that come out of your mouth. Those kind of someones are worth counting your lucky stars for. I think they are kind of amazing. When nearly everything I say makes perfect sense to someone, I appreciate that person for being who they are. (why nearly.. not EVERY thing? - carry on a conversation with me and try keeping up. Following and understanding EVERY thing is rare.)

wrapping up one weekend and plotting the next

Friday:
All that needs to be told-
Maliboo beat Mr. Cata in bowling.

Saturday:
Fran, a good friend of mine, had a party thrown for her on Saturday celebrating her marriage. The party was across the street from my parents house so we had a small crew gather prior to the celebration and walk over together dodging the rain drops being thrown down at us. The Check Spellinggathering was nice and it was great to see my sweet Fran. We visited the Front Porch for a little after party.

Sunday:
Sister's Restaurant lunch buffet and later that night a fishy fry with friends.

Monday:
No class for me thanks to someone having a dream a long time ago. It's a beautiful day outside. If I wasn't so scared Ziggy would get back into that disaster of a mess she found yesterday we would have been outside enjoying ourselves all day. Instead, I'm watching her snooze and listening to her snore on the couch. We have taken our outside adventures in small portions at a time today.

NEXT WEEKEND:
Head to Montgomery, Alabama to a reception for Whitney Griffin celebrating her recent marriage. What to wear, what to wear!??!!
